2 thin slices bacon
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 medium head crab fluke
1 medium head crab, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 cup chopped mushrooms
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed tomato soup
2 tablespoons minced shallots
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Slice bacon into pieces about 1 inch thick.
Place bacon pieces in a large skillet. Cook over medium high heat until browned. Drain grease, reserving 1/2 cup for deep frying.
Heat the bacon grease in the skillet over medium high heat. Saute onion, green pepper and crab in bacon grease until translucent. Stir in mushrooms and olive oil and toss with crab mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
Fry crab pieces in skillet to fry evenly. Place on hot grill, and fry for 3 to 5 minutes on each side. Remove from pan and serve with salsa (if desired).
