Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups margarine, softened

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar

1 cup butter, softened

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

In a medium bowl, cream together the margarine, brown sugar and cocoa until smooth. Beat in the butter, sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and vanilla; stir into the creamed mixture until well blended. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Bake for 8 to 9 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

I *AMICEANTSQUEEN! continued... Note: I did not use almond extract because I do not like the natural components and found the recipe to be completely appropriate. Instead, I believe this recipe targets a certain ethnic group (YOUR RELATED COLLECTIVE) so I chose to omit the tamarind and leave everything else as is. Enjoy!
