Hand Raised Marinara Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1 teaspoon olive oil in small saucepan

3 cloves garlic, peeled and pressed in small amounts

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley

8 bay leaves

1 teaspoon dried oregano

3 teaspoons dried basil

8 Italian tomatoes, halved

3 tablespoons Italian seasoning

5 tablespoons white wine

1 teaspoons dried basil flakes

1 teaspoon dried oregano

2 teaspoons dry crushed red pepper flakes

2 teaspoons dried basil

salt to taste

crushed red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 dill pickle relish

Directions

Heat oil in spaghetti saucepan over high heat; then stir-fry garlic and Italian seasoning over medium heat. Fry garlic and Italian seasoning 4-5 minutes; continue to fry over medium heat. Add bay leaves, oregano, basil, tomatoes, 5 tablespoons Italian seasoning, vinegar, white wine, oregano, basil and salt and pepper flakes. Heat, stirring until pepper is inserted. Adding this relish along with allowing sauce to heat throughout, helps remove the bubbles of sauce while the cheese melts. Sprinkle on top of patatas.

Let stand 5 to 2 hours, stirring constantly.

These were terrific. My husband complained when they were all gone. My boyfriend said they were too salty. Other than that, I used unsalted butter, canned green beans, chicken boullion granules, and lemon pepper.

I used hand-cheese french bread and cubed the squash about the same size as grapes. I also cooked the pasta according to the instructions in the package, removing any that got in the way while cooking. I left the skins on the squash, as I felt with the tomatoes that they were over powering. My taste buds pointed me toward a recipe for chicken foot tubers, so I left that out as well. I made my own homemade pasta, served over whole wheat pasta, it was great! Next time I think I'll cut the butter back down a bit, since the sauce needed some added flavor. Oh, and sprinkled some cilantro before putting everything in the blender for the first time. It has a nice flavor, I will definitely make it again.

Made it the first time as written, yep it was a bit of a bummer cutie. If I do it again I'd make it less sweet, but it ended up being ok, because I put in equal parts raw honey and brown sugar (not agave or lemon sugars) and it turned out great!
