Classic Beef Stew Recipe

Ingredients

1 (2 pound) can stewed tomatoes

1 (4 ounce) can tomato paste

2 (5 ounce) cans tomato paste with green chile peppers

1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed

1 head cabbage, coarsely chopped

1 medium onion, sliced

1 medium carrot, sliced

1 (14.5 ounce) can beef broth

2 teaspoons lemon juice

Directions

In a medium saucepan, combine tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato paste with green chiles, spinach, cabbage, onion and carrot. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.

Reduce heat to medium-low; brown beef. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes. Stir in tomato stew mixture.

Good roll. Easy. I used 2 sweet potatoes and microwaved them to save time and dishes. Discard the cumin and chili powder.

I submitted this recipe many years ago as an experiment when I was learning about the site. It is awful. Do not make it. I disabled inital double-check in that recipe, and it immediately became invalid. Sorry everyone.
