1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium carrot, chopped
1 medium celery, chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons dried sage
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon dried rosemary
1 tablespoon salt
2 cups water
1 cup uncooked white rice
2 cups chicken broth
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried sage
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1 teaspoon dry mustard
In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Cook onion, carrot and celery in oil until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in carrots, celery and green pepper. Reduce heat to medium. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.
