This was a great smoked salmon recipe! I used a salmon fillet the first time (I didn't have reds), and I cooked it for 6 hours. Then I cooked 8 fillets in total (with the juices), and I cooked them for 10 minutes. I'm not recommending changing anything in this recipe, but this is a great base to get you started. I used Valerie's excellent garlic salt and pepper. I left my red onions whole, so they were even more flavorful. You could use store bought rosemary, if you wish, but I didn't. I will not be changing anything in this recipe, however, and it was tasty. I would change my next time, however, I may try leaving my reds raw, because the salmon is quite salty. Maybe cooking them in a cast iron skillet would be a better option. I will keep working on this one, but

This was a big hit! I think the reason I didn't rate higher is because I had to cook the salmon longer than indicated in the recipe. The recipe calls for just one hour, but I had to cook it all day. The recipe was very good, but I think I would have liked it more if I had just one hour. The recipe is very simple, but I did add some garlic to it at the end to make it more flavorful. The next time I make it, I may put in more herbs, but I didn't find that it needed it, and I would have liked it if I did. The next time I make it, I may put in some diced carrots or celery, but I didn't find that either of those would make it more flavorful, and so I left them out. The recipe is simple, but I did find that it takes a few bowls of water

This was very good and easy to prepare. I marinated it for 1 hour and then added some chicken thighs to it. It was so good that I didn't even add the remaining fish. The salmon was so tender that I didn't even bother to broil it. I just served it as is. The seasoning really adds a nice taste to the fish.
