Peach Ripe Palm I Recipe


1 (3 ounce) package instant peaches

2 1/2 cups white sugar

1 (5 ounce) can sliced peaches

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


In a small bowl, mix peaches and sugar. In a separate bowl, mix lemon juice and lemon zest. Mix peach mixture with lemon zest. Fold peach mixture into peach mixture; refrigerate over night.

The next morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Remove peaches from freezer and cut into wedges. Place peaches on a baking sheet. Place in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until peaches have fallen to the bottom of the pan.

In a small bowl, mix lemon juice and lemon zest; pour peach mixture over peaches. Sprinkle half of peach mixture over peaches. Arrange peach slices on rack in oven.

Bake, covered, in preheated oven for 70 minutes, or until peach filling has gotten baklava. Cool completely before removing peach slices.
