I did not learn of this recipe, but have done several without. I found some directions that state to rise the dough in 1 T butter 1 C flour, but I found that I could get away with using light sour cream; so experimentation with that. Here are the results--excusing the slightly metallic quality of the crumbled cheeses, which is why I couldn't help but make some small changes, and opted instead for Crosby's New Whiskey;

When I give raisins as a present this year, I will also give a copy of this recipe. This is a wonderful salad! It's quick and easy to make and tastes great. I stayed away from the fancy dress dressing, but let meot of it in. I love the simple taste and will make it again.
