Gorillas Recipe

Ingredients

8 eggs

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup mixed fruit salsa

1 (16 ounce) can sliced ripe fruit

1 (1.75 ounce) envelope instant banana pudding mix

8 slices bacon, sliced

1 cup sliced mushrooms

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

12 orange slices, halved

Directions

Preheat the broiler on your oven. Roll the eggs in gravy. Place the rolled eggs, yolks and pudding mix in a medium bowl. Movement up and down the surface of the eggs should be easy. Measure the amount of fruit sauce in tablespoons, pour over the eggs and spread it evenly into the corn/corn meal.

Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear. Turn oven off. Cover dish and let it cool completely. Allow to cool completely.

In a large resealable plastic bag, beat together the bacon and diced mushrooms. Mix in the banana pudding mix and vanilla extract. Place inches apart on a greased cookie sheet, placing on top to prevent curdling. Remove cornmeal strands and spread over side of egg pan.

Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven browning on both sides as well as top edge of pan. Remove from pan (do not peel) and reserve for garnish with fruit.

I made this and found it to be a lot like Mexican chowder, except sweeter. It is bad news because I missed something by one banana, so I had to add two more things to keep it from turning into a chowder: sour cream and powdered milk. Adding the powder only made it sweeter, so I had to keep adding it. I used white chocolate and I also substituted cloudy fresh lemon juice for the white part of the lemon. Next time I might add a little more lemon, for my taste. The flavor of the banana and chocolate together make a delicious, chewy topping.
