Hot Pecan Triangles Recipe

Ingredients

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons milk

3 eggs

2 cups dry bread crumbs

1 cup chopped pecans

1 (10 ounce) can evaporated milk

1/3 cup butter

3/4 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup water

2 (16 ounce) packages shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray an 8x8 inch pan with cooking spray.

In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, milk, eggs, bread crumbs, pecans, milk, butter and white sugar. Mix well and set aside.

Find a medium baking sheet and roll out the pastry. Cut out triangles about 10 inches in size. Place in prepared pan.

Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown and the center of the triangles has popped out. Let cool completely before cutting into 1 inch squares.

For the filling: Beat cream cheese until fluffy; add 1/2 cup of juice as needed. Mix together flour mixture with baking powder. Mix egg and 1/3 cup of juice into creamed mixture. Mix together dry bread crumbs, pecans, 3/4 cup water, butter, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 cup milk. Mix together cream cheese mixture and flour mixture.

For the filling and crust: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place cheeses in large baking sheet or 8 inch square pan. Brush cheeses with remaining 1/3 cup of juice and sprinkle with remaining pecans.

Bake cheeses for 25 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly. For the crust: Place cheeses on baking sheet. Spread 1/3 cup of cream cheese mixture on bottom of cream cheese pie crust. Let stand for several minutes. Top with remaining cream cheese mixture and pecans. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 40 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into thin slices.

Really great recipe. I didn't have any dried chilies but this was very good. I only had half a red bell pepper so I used a pinch and it was very good. I think I would have preferred just using diced carrots because it was easy but I digested that and liked it. Will make this again.

Wonderful recipe. I cooked my fish in a large saucepan and used TB3 of Flour, TB2 of Salt, and 1 tsp of McCormick's Onion powder. I used your biscotti shape and it was amazing! Big mahalos to you!
