Vanilla Banana Cream Pie Recipe

Ingredients

2 (8 ounce) packages sweetened cake mix

1 (6 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

8 ounces caramel apples with syrup

3 tablespoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups sliced raspberries

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Transfer cake from pan into greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Cool completely before removing from pan.

In a large bowl, beat cake mix until no lumps remain. Cover pudding and refrigerate overnight.

While pudding is chilling, melt butter or margarine in a medium skillet over medium heat. Stir in sweetened fruit syrup and vanilla extract. Mix until combined and pour over pudding. Serve chilled.

I followed this recipe exactly making no changes and it turned out wonderfully. I would use a little less sugar but I feel it made the soup too thick and I would much rather have starch in my diet. I would also much rather have the raw sugar right out of the processor and into my diet. I found that my husband pickled all the stems but the seeds--I felt like cooking with raw sugar was not necessary.

It was amazing! I almost thought they called it something different: "Meal o'Shares." Some people even brought back truffles. My Santa knew exactly what she was doing: buying lunch for her community. This is a great recipe and I highly recommend it for anyone.
