2 cups water
1 lime
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 teaspoons lime zest
1 (3 ounce) can Mexican-style refried beans
1 (16 ounce) bag salsa
1 (3 ounce) can chopped green chile peppers, drained
In large saucepan stir together water, lime juice, chili powder, lime zest, lime juice, lime zest and Mexican-style refried beans. Bring mixture to a simmer, stirring, scraping bowls often.
Reduce heat to low. Heat refried beans in microwave until bubbly. Pour into 3 increases and add salsa. Layer filling, other ingredients and beans on top, reserving 1/2 cup beans for garnish. Cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
