Corned Beef II Recipe

Ingredients

1 tablespoon water

2 teaspoons cornstarch

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 1/2 teaspoons dried onion flakes

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon dried sage

2 pounds beef carcass

Directions

In a heavy skillet, combine water, cornstarch, salt, onion flakes, pepper, paprika, sage and beef. Cook over medium heat until beef is evenly browned. Reduce heat to medium, and cook 20 minutes.

Stir beef mixture into the pan with the tomato sauce. Simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until mixture is thickened.

Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and pepper, and pour over meat mixture.

Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 15 to 20 minutes or until all juices are absorbed.

I really liked this bread. It was simple to make and it was a hit at our post-Santa Bus supper. We actually kept some bread in the fridge and defrosted it alittle overnight to crisp it up. Took about 25 minutes to whip up.
