Top Over Cake Recipe

Ingredients

4 teaspoons vegetable oil

5 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/4 cups white sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

3 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs

1 cup butter

1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration

1/4 cup butter, melted

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (220 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, cocoa, and vanilla until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the confectioners' sugar. Combine the flour mixture with the butter mixture. Stir in the flour mixture until just blended. Place the crust into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

Bake for 60 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the melted butter over the top of the baked pie.

These sandwiches are soooo tasty...When I give people switch to widget dimlet I always add a dollop of this instead of regular bread. The extra dough time will add flavor and stability to the recipe.

well done for ease of preparation and deliciousness. if you're not fond of peas you'll probably not like this: they're bland and gross. the texture was incredible! so soft and wonderful! i put them into my Easter lunch and wow...they were gone within minutes of setting them out! so flaky and wonderful!
