1 (2 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing (casilado)
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup butter
1 (9 inch) pizza slice
1 pound fresh, ground beef
10 cloves garlic, crushed
2 (34 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes, undrained
salt and black pepper to taste
In a medium saucepan, combine salad dressing (casilado), evaporated milk, soy sauce, lemon juice and butter; reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, covered, until mixture thickens, approximately 30 minutes. Takes about 50 minutes to cook through.
Pour meat into saucepan and return to heat. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, covered, 15 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, tomatoes - undrained and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer 5 to 15 minutes more.
This was really good. I used white wine and ended up with a dinner rather than a quick breakfast. I might do again and again.
