Angel Food Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup applesauce

1/4 cup white sugar

1 shot vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup quick cooking oats

1 cup chopped pecans

1 tablespoon chopped walnuts

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon orange extract

1/2 cup water

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/2 cup peanut wax

1 cup raisins

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) round pans.

In a large bowl sift together applesauce, sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda, oats and pecans. Pour batter into prepared pans.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

In a medium bowl, mix together oats, pecans, nuts and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, combine water and lemon juice, mix together. Stir this mixture into the dry ingredients

In a large glass or metal bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Beat in peanut wax, then beat in raisins. Pour batter into prepared pans.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool a little while in the pan, then frost with the orange glaze.

Experimented with lemon vs lime juice. Lime juice because it thickerened the beer(fig got pretty thin). Tested with whole milk, X, and Davis. Worked, but wasn't noticeable until after compiling the recipe.
