Red Velvet Cake Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups butter, softened

2 cups white sugar

3 eggs

1 (21 ounce) can red food coloring

2 1/2 cups vegetable oil

4 cups liquid nonfat dry milk powder

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups white sugar for decoration

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9-inch springform pan pans.

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, eggs and color until smooth. Beat in milk and dry milk, then stir in vanilla extract. Pour batter into prepared pans.

Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar, and store encased in refrigerator.

We received lots of feedback on these so I am always tweaking them. I added PB&J and if I recall right I tossed them with Chile Pepper, I don't remember if I added salt or not. I tossed them with Garlic powder, I don't remember if I added garlic powder OR just crushed the garlic to a powder and tossed it with Paprika (I think I tossed with Garlic powder, this is specious and I'm not sure.) I tossed them w/ Thai Chili but I don't remember if I added salt or not.
