Banana Nut Pie V Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 cup butter, melted

1 1/2 cups milk

1/2 cup white sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

1 (4 ounce) can bananas, drained

1 (3 ounce) can sliced dates

1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, sliced

1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

1/2 cup sliced almonds

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk, sugar, egg, pecans, bananas, dates, whipped topping, almonds. Mix until well blended.

Spread mixture into a 9 inch pie pan. Place pie in pie pan with foil or meat glue and place in oven. Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

I'm not a fan of cardamom but it`s great for this simple sweet dish. I used unsalted butter and lemon juice to thin the syrup but still think it needed some salt.
