1 (3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 cup cold milk
1 cup boiling water
1 cup strawberries in large jars
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons strawberry juice
Beat half of the milk into the boiling water; remove from heat. Let cool.
In a small saucepan, bring the boiling water to a boil. Bring a large pot of water to a boil over medium-high heat. Put rice and milk packets into large plastic storage container. In a mixing bowl, mix strawberry juice with vanilla. Transfer half of custards to jar and place liquid side up. Refrigerate 2 hours or more to let flavors meld.
Let stand 2 hours.
