2 1/3 cups butter, softened
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon white sugar
2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth and creamy. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Combine white sugar, brown sugar, egg yellow, vanilla, flour, baking soda and baking powder; mix until well blended. Fold flour into the creamed mixture until well blended. Stir in white sugar last. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
