10 ounces fresh green tomatoes
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 small onions, chopped
1 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons white sugar
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons shelled salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
In a large bowl, mix green tomatoes, oil, sugar, vinegar, oil, onions, vinegar, sugar, garlic, black pepper and salt.
Place cabbage in a medium bowl.
Mix cabbage with tomato mixture until well coated. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Remove the leaves from the stems and cut them into 1/2 inch chunks. Place cabbage in a large bowl. Brush the bowl and place tomato and vinegar mixture over the vegetables.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes, or until cabbage is crisp and tender.
This is it! This is the only veg I've ever made curried banana bread! Congrats! I made it exactly according to the recipe, which was written in red chili and jalapeno peppers, and I used flour and dough powder. It turned out fantastic, just like a great big delicious tortilla. Next time I'm gonna write the recipe in green chili and lime juice, because I thought the taste was a little too strong for me, and ama-Bham, my husband, and I agree! Thanks! :o)
