3 pounds ground beef
3 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 (4 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (8 ounce) can tomato paste with green chiles
1 pint baking soda
2 teaspoons salt
3 pounds ground pork
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, blend beef, garlic powder, tomato paste, tomato paste with green chiles, baking soda and salt. Mix thoroughly and shape into a loaf. Roll out to 1/8 inch thickness.
Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, mix pork mix, baking soda, salt and 2 pounds pork. Mix well and shape into loaf. Spoon mixture onto a platter.
I absolutely loved this recipe--even my husband thought so. I followed all of the directions, exactly (or so I thought)! No leftovers, no adjustments, just plain delicious. Think we'll make this time and time again.
