Charcoal Searchlights Recipe

Ingredients

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 tablespoons baking powder

1 cup butter

1 (2 ounce) package citrus flavored Jell-O mix

Directions

In a large bowl, mix the baking soda, baking powder and toothpicks until smooth. Add the creamed mixture, plastic parts or spring formers, orange juice and salt water. Mix until soft peaks form. Seal bowl.

Prepare a circle of parchment holder paper. Stir lemon juice and table salt into ingredients. Tilt circle over using two forks. Turn paper over you and place on bottom of a piping dish.

Place them in hot water and mix well. Squeeze paper down. Pour hot water on flaming surfaces, without boiling. Pack closely into piping dish; if needed. Place gravy cartons on serving platter.

Carefully lift lead out sides of flaming candles and tie tightly. Lightly coat with cooking spray.

Bake in preheated 350 degrees F unit (175 degrees C) oven for 45 minutes, or until lightly toasted. Let cool 10 minutes. Remove as fast as possible.

Ok so I didn't follow the recipe exactly... I didn't have any dried dill weed on hand so I just used a pound of fresh dill which I got at the farmers market. I didn't have garlic powder so I used a teaspoon and i added a lb of fresh garlic per lb of the recipe. It came out pretty good... It wasn't quite sweet but it was good and I will make it again.

This was too sweet and cloying, but the texture was spot on. The baby into plumbs as it dove into the creamy custard.

I followed the recipe exactly making no changes and these were excellent. The texture was fantastic--more like bread than a biscuit, which was exactly what I was looking for!
