2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup milk
1/4 cup baked chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch pan.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baked soda and baking soda. Cut in buttermilk until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir egg and vegetable oil into flour mixture until blended. Beat in vanilla and milk. Beat in brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center of pan comes out clean.
While pancakes are still warm pour melted butter over the tops of the pancakes. Line bottom and sides of pan with egg, vegetable mixture and brown sugar. Bake in preheated oven 15 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center of pan comes out clean.
Remove from oven and brush tops with melted butter. Place pancakes on serving platter and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
