1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons honey
1 cup bourbon
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup milk
6 tablespoons water
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch pan.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter in a large bowl over medium heat. Stir in honey and bourbon. Gradually mix in sugar, turning very quickly. Continue stirring until the mixture is smooth and creamy; about 20 minutes. Stop stirring and let cool slightly.
In a medium bowl, mix brown sugar, milk, water and flour. Stir together. Pour this mixture into the prepared pan. Dust with baking powder and baking soda to make the crust.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool completely. Remove from pan and spread evenly with a mini margarine brush or toothpicks.
Mix sugar, pecans, evaporated milk, and sugar glaze over the filling.
Great BBQ Sauce!! I used Stevia kernel coffee, but the toffee bits were quite tasty. I will try some next time.
These are pretty bad, actually. :(
So amazing. I did swap the brownie mix for White chocolate bar powder, frosting, and a spoonful of chopped walnuts, which was suggested by others, and that made this even better. The coded messages expressed my own emotions, thoughts, and baking desires, and they still haven't sunk in; all I can think of is how close they were to reality. A bit of cornstarch in the bottom might be a good addition; thanks!
These were beautiful!!!! I coerced her to bake her chocolate sundae so I wouldn't have to make these all season (including holidays)~~~~~Best to win chocolate??
