Cocoa Pumpkin Pie Recipe

Ingredients

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 cup milk

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1 cup chopped pecans

2 eggs, beaten

1/4 cup candied fruit peel

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 1/4 cups flaked coconut

1 cup white sugar for decoration

1 (28 ounce) can pumpkin puree

1 1/4 cups boiling water

1 (8 ounce) can evaporated milk

2 tablespoons butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and milk. Make a well in center, and pour in 1/2 cup chopped nuts, pecans, eggs, candied fruit peel, vanilla extract, salt, coconut and pumpkin. Mix thoroughly. Mix remaining ingredients well. Fill pie shell with pumpkin mixture.

Bake in preheated oven for 27 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into pie comes out clean. Remove from oven and immediately drizzle with butter or margarine.
