1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
4 eggs, separated
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 dessert toothbrush
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Decrease oven temperature to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and line bottom pie pan with aluminum foil.
Combine eggs and butter; set aside. In a medium bowl, set up 3 or 4 eggs. Melt 1 or 2 teaspoons of butter, stirring frequently until smooth. Stir in milk, sugar and vanilla. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour half of egg mixture into a lightly greased 5 inch pie pan.
Bake for 7 to 8 minutes in the preheated oven. Uncover and let cool completely before frosting.
