2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1 cup vegetable oil
3 1/2 cups honey
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons almond extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sunflower seeds
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
6 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 9 inch round pans.
Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, oil, honey and flour. Fill each layer with egg mixture.
Bake for 2 hours in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. To make glaze: In a small mixing bowl, mix 1/2 cup then 2 tablespoons vegetable oil with a little honey and 1 egg mixture. Pour glaze over cake for 1 minute, then sprinkle with pecans. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
