1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup small flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dash baking soda
1/2 teaspoon white sugar
1/2 cup hot milk
2 eggs
1 star anise pepper
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
In a medium bowl, mix the flour, salt, baking soda, sugar, and hot milk until smooth. Set aside to cool.
Heat 1 1/2 cup of water in a medium saucepan over low heat.
Fold the flour mixture into the egg mixture and stir until blended. Mix in the 7 eggs and 1 teaspoon anise pepper. Pour batter into prepared broiler pan.
Place pan in a large resealable plastic bag to keep warm. Place eggs in bag and seal. Pour milk mixture over eggs and top off with heavy whipping cream.
Broil eggs at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 5 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly browned and yolks are set.
