1 pound Italian sausage
1 onion, halved and seeded
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
4 teaspoons onion powder
16 ounces (1/2 pound) cheese, cubed
7 ounces smoked sausage
Place the sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain and set aside.
Heat the Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in onions.
Pour the sausage into the skillet, never breaking up the small pieces. Cook, stirring constantly, until evenly brown.
Transfer sausage to a large bowl and mix with the onion. Stir in the cheese. Transfer mixture to the skillet and stir in the remaining water. Return mixture to the saucepan. Simmer uncovered for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
