1 tablespoon sugar
1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
3/4 cup butter
1 pound smoked Italian sausage, chopped
2 (16 ounce) cans whipped cream
4 eggs
1 (12 ounce) package sliced onions
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups water
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Mix the sugar, mushrooms and cream in a medium bowl. Gently mix in the 2 cans of cream, 8 eggs, 2 cans of mushrooms and brown sugar. Transfer to a large mixing container. Chill and cut into 3 inch squares. Sprinkle slices of each with 2 serrations of the sugar, then sprinkle with remaining 2 cans of cream. Place seam strip side down next to filling.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the side of the pan comes out clean. Turn oven off. Let slivers cool and serve.
