1 (9 inch) pie crust, baked
1/2 cup butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (4 ounce) can frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Mix together butter, flour, baking powder, and cream cheese. Spread mixture inside baked pie shell.
Bake in preheated oven until pecans are golden brown, about 20 minutes. Cool slightly. Cut into squares.
To make pecans: Beat cream cheese with a small mixing bowl until smooth; drop by rounded spoonfuls into pie shell. Spread cream cheese mixture over pecans. Garnish with sliced pecans. Chill until serving time.
To make whipped topping: Beat whipping cream with 1/2 cup whipped topping until soft peaks form. Slowly beat whipping cream until stiff. Stir whipped cream into pie filling, then spoon over pecans.
