2 (18 ounce) packages chocolate cake mix
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
1/2 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (18 ounce) can craft chocolate covered sweetened chocolate candies, divided
4 chocolate candy-coated sugar cubes
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, combine cake mix and oil. Beat for 8 minutes. Beat in 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Beat in 1/2 cup oil, then beat in the vanilla. Spread evenly into the prepared pans.
Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
