Little Chinese Sweet Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients

1 (4 ounce) package Chinese shaped roll dough

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish

1 teaspoon vegetable oil

salt to taste

1/4 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon dried sage

1/2 teaspoon dried chili pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Remove parchment paper from the top of the dumplings and place them in the bottom of a 9 inch cake pan.

Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 20 minutes. Remove plastic wrap from dumplings and place over hot coals for 30 seconds. Remove and sprinkle with egg whites and salt and pepper.

I've made this recipe for Chinese New Year's Eve more than a dozen times, and each time it is a winner. It takes a little planning, but this can be accomplished in an afternoon. Simply line a baking sheet with wax paper, add your meat, and begin baking. No special ingredients or utensils, just a bowl and a spoon. Don't forget the rolling pin!
