2 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
2 1/2 cups white sugar
1/3 cup hot water
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup crushed chocolate pecans
Beat the peanut butter, sugar and water together until smooth. Stir in egg and vanilla. Mix in flour, baking soda, salt and vanilla extract; add to peanut butter mixture. Beat in chocolate pecans.
Bake for about 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow to cool completely. Chill peanut butter mixture in refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Remove pecans from chocolate coating.
I am not a direct line follower but this recipe seems to tickle. Maybe it's the spiced alum -- I thought it might be good. Something about rice pudding. Either way, I will make it again.
I made this for a Christmas party, and it turned out great! I shared it with a few of my friends, and they raved about it! I didn't have any peanut butter, so I used a bowl to put the chocolate peanut butter on, and spread it around. Then I spread the rest of the peanut butter on the chocolate, and again made a thin layer, spreading it on top of the candy. I didn't get a chance to photograph this, but it was absolutely delicious, and so easy to make! I will definitely make it again!
