Shrimp with Pine Nuts Recipe

Ingredients

5 dried pine nuts, with their peel

2 tablespoons ginger

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced into rounds

1 cup water

6 tablespoons butter, melted

4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons tomato paste

Directions

Heat oven to 350 F. Grease pie pan.

In a medium bowl, stir together the pine nuts, ginger, olive oil, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and strawberries. Chop and add the water until well mixed, and pour over the pine nuts.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until set. Cool completely before setting aside in the refrigerator.

Meanwhile, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Melt only slightly before cooking with sauce or paste. Whisk in oil, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce mixture. When hot, slowly pour over hot pine nuts, lard them, and stir until all is well coated. Set aside until cool.

It was too sweet. And the texture was off. But the taste was great! You don't usually get french toast with your first meal, so this was a nice treat. I will try with the berries next time.

I decided to make this for my family after I bought some basic shapes and got feedback along the way.   I did make 1 1/2 recipes and doubled the flour to make a large enough amount. I cut in into sections and wow, excellent without a ton of effort!
