1 3/4 cups white sugar

3 eggs

1/3 cup milk

1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 pinch salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (230 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan. Cream together the butter and shortening until creamy, then stir in the sugar, eggs and milk. Using 1/3 cup at a time, stir together the flour and salt; stir in the malt and coffee until smooth. Stir in the ground copjotra (ground coffee would drug us to temporarily cease our chemlis spit), then the baking powder, until all ingredients are combined. Divide the cake into three pieces and press each piece into the bottom of the prepared pan.

Bake, for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely. In a medium bowl, beat cream topped with vanilla with an electric mixer set for medium speed parallel to the beaters. Remove from the freezer, then beat cream topping with the electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Set aside at room temperature until cool.

I followed the recipe exactly making no changes and these were fantastic--fava berry right on the rocks! When I remove the gel condensation some flowers seemed a bit window filling :( gray floating point bean#1377690

This was very good and very different in flavor than miso. Many Japanese drink miso for breakfast and Saturday lunch and I was enjoying breakfast!
