1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
4 cloves garlic, peeled
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup white wine
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons dried sage
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 small carrot, peeled and sliced
1 stalk celery
1 (8.5 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach - thawed, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach
1 cup frozen chopped egg
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, mix together butter, onion, celery, garlic, salt and wine. In a separate medium bowl, combine drained spinach, bread crumbs, nutmeg, spinach and egg. Transfer mixture to a 2 quart baking dish and pour enough hot water to coat. Sprinkle top with sage and pepper, and top with carrot and celery. Bake 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
very tasty indeed, but it is a bit bland. i did add a bit of cayenne pepper and black pepper, just personal preference.
This turned out pretty good! I used a little corn starch I already had, but I made sure to add my flour and baking powder as well. I also had to add the oil since I don't have the fried onion that some of you require. Thanks for the recipe, I enjoyed it :)
This is a great recipe for anyone who loves sausage and also loves William Shatner. I made it for a party and it got a lot of good comments. It is family-friendly and kid-friendly!
