4 raw egg yolks
4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
4 slices fresh mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup butter
salt and pepper to taste
2 teaspoons dried basil
salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat.
Place raw egg yolks in a medium saucepan with 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese. Simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in Italian seasoning, mozzarella and butter. Place in large bowl and stir together.
In small saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter. Saute 2 more cloves of garlic (or oil) in small saucepan, then saute a small onion in small saucepan. Butter the onion, then transfer it to bowl with egg yolks. Stir in salt and pepper. Transfer to medium bowl with bread cubes. Whisk egg mixture with 1/2 cup of sauce into bread cubes, mixing until well blended. Then whisk in 1/2 cup of butter, 1/3 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of basil. Stir egg mixture into bread mixture, a little at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
Cover and grill over medium heat for about 1 hour or until bubbly and lightly browned.
