Turkey and Kielbasa Recipe

Ingredients

1 large pea (28 ounce) whole, cooked and drained

3 tablespoons salt

1 tablespoon white sugar

2 teaspoons ground black pepper

4 tablespoons butter

4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

3 tablespoons meat flavored vegetable protein

1 cup turkey meat

3 (11 ounce) cans beef broth

1 (4 ounce) can chopped fresh tomatoes

1 (8 ounce) can tomato paste

1 (4.5 ounce) can tomato sauce

1/2 cup dry lentils

1 cup dried peas

1 cup dry white wine

1 cup dried curd-dried tomatoes

1 cup heavy cream

Directions

In a large skillet over medium heat, combine salt, sugar, and pepper. Saute until sugar dissolves into butter, then stir in flour, stirring constantly until equal parts of flour, salt and sugar are dissolved. Stir in meat, broth, tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and tomato sauce. Raise heat to high. Cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens, about 40 minutes.

I made this and my husband loved it but I cut in a few hard to get a good crust on his bread. I also added a small pinch of freshly cracked pepper. I had leftover onion rings which I smashed in with a potato masher. I prepared these for my family and they loved it but my husband wouldn't have it anymore. I sent them over to a seafood restaurant and they said their was no fish there. I put the bread on the grill and grilled it but it was still way too bland. It seems to be a common problem with French Broad Beans. I will make this again and make sure we have the fresh beans because it was a little over cooked.

Love this recipe and so easy too! I didn't have time to make the bread in a loaf pan (it was a last minute thought to have with spaghetti) so I simply used a 12 cup muffin pan and microwaved it to save time and dishes. I don't think I'll make the sandwich again but that doesn't mean it's bad! It's quite lovely and tasty!
