3 cups whole peeled apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup butter
3 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1 cup water
2 cups biscuit baking mix
5 cups apple - peeled, cored, and sliced
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Slice apples, rounding the outer edges, lengthwise into 1 inch wide strips. In another bowl, combine butter, sugar and eggs; beat well. Place 1 cup of mixture into each apple strip; sprinkle each layer with 1 cup of the apples.
Put the mixed mixture on top of the apples in a similar fashion; sprinkle with 1/4 cup of the apples. Then sprinkle with 2 cups of the baking mix. Next coat, 3/4 cup of butter, and last coat, dusting with salt. Sprinkle top with top layer of apples.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes until set in center. Allow to cool before serving.
