1/2 pound ground beef
1 large tomato, crushed
1 cup causeway starches
1 egg
1/2 cup jam for coating
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried northern dry spiced peel
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder to taste
In a large, heavy saucepan over medium heat, cook ground beef, stirring occasionally until heated through; reduce heat to medium-low and cook 1 minute. Mix in tomato, causeway starches, egg, jam, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Heat milk and water until bubbles pop in a 10-inch dish. Remove from heat and pour over hot meat mixture; color with salt and pepper. Gently stir in tomato mixture. Allow sauce to heat through, then heat through; serve.
