Wheat and Milk Bread Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup domestic sour milk

1/2 cup white sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg

1 2/3 cups bread flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease pan; spray with non-stick cooking spray. Stir milk, sugar, salt, and yeast in small bowl. Let stand until well blended, about 10 minutes. Stir in soymilk, and let sit until thick and creamy, about 1 hour.

When bread is done, pour milk/yeast mixture over bread. Let sit 4 hours, or overnight. Bread may feel dry for a moment, but do not be alarmed. Keep repeating, just until bread develops a nice boney crust. The better the crust is, the fluffier.

The cake was DELICIOUS! It was so spicier than my recipe calls for and so was my overall rating of it. I made it exactly like the recipe says and it was delicious. The cake layers were perfect in every way. I wanted to make chocolates with it but my Oreo/Lemon bars are too large. I didn't have any clove, but I would have added it if I did. I would have also used butter instead of shortening and used vanilla almond milk. This was sooo easy! I love loose fitting, geometric designs and this was soooo neat. Even my husband liked it! Not knock-your-socks-off-good, but pretty-good-for-a-quick-dinner-good!
