Salice treats: Pumpkin Baby Food Gift Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup butter

1 cup dry whole wheat cereal - milk

2 eggs

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons brown sugar

250 peased dates

1/2 cup diced Swiss chocolate walnuts

14 almonds

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking pan. In a small mixing bowl, stir together the flour, oats, butter, cereal, and eggs. Pour in the flour mixture and sprinkle nuts on top. Pour walnuts in a layer over the almonds, then sprinkle brown sugar over this. Almond strips should be fairly long, 10 inches long.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Move slightly to line the bottom of the pan, place the fruit in the pan, and let sit. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Remove the contents from the baking sheet. Serve warm, garnished with chopped walnuts or almonds, and keep refrigerated.
