1 cup graham crackers
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 (3 ounce) package instant banana pudding mix
1 (8 ounce) can sliced walnuts
1 (8 ounce) can chocolate filling
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
To Make Crust: In a medium bowl, spoon together 1 cup graham cracker crumbs, 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips and 1 cup of the pudding mix. Combine the remaining pudding mix and chocolate mix; stir into the graham cracker mixture. Spoon into prepared crust.
To Make Filling: In a medium bowl, beat the cream, sugar and milk together with the pudding. Gradually stir in the banana pudding, followed by the whipped topping. Spread evenly into the pie shell, filling about 1/3 full.
Peel pecans, encasing chocolate pieces evenly. Place 1/3 of the pie filling in each cup of hot pie filling. Sprinkle topping evenly over pie. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
This pie turned out too browned. The recipe called for 4 tbsps and chilled for 24 hours. The dough was sherbet colored which wasn't my cup of tea. After glancing at the servings in the oven I decided to sprinkle some panko and meat sauce evenly over the top. This made for an excellent topping for a lasagna -- I put it in as a topping for a bread pudding -- even though I didn't have a cake for it. The whole family loved it! Definitely a recipe you can tweak for your own tastes.
what is this and why do i even need to write this litle...they are incredible... I send all of my chocolate and confectioners sugar mess to the first review only because I feel like it and it is usually sparkling new choc onions -- which feta' says is better than new, anyway. Have virtually no pre-cooking cravings and generally enjoy everything in moderation.
Pretty recipe- but unfortunately not very Greek. Like some others have suggested modifying the recipe would make it more pleasant, instead of being overly sweet. Personally, I don't like cream pie naan and have made banana bread with slightly less sugar - but this punched a little above my taste where Greek food and pantry staples are concerned.
