Beefburger Red Recipe

Ingredients

1 pound rounds beef sirloin tip steaks

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 (16 ounce) package mushrooms, sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 small tomato, seeded

1 (5 ounce) can tomato paste

1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

2 teaspoons dried basil

salt and pepper to taste

Directions

In a large resealable plastic bag, mix vegetable oil, mushrooms, olive oil, onion, tomato, tomato paste, Swiss cheese and basil. Secure bag using toothpicks.

Cover bag tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 1 hour. Reduce heat to low and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until beef is no longer pink and cheese is melted.

I initially tried this out for my wife but she said it was just for her. She hasn't tried the raw egg yet so we will see what she makes of it. I gave it 3 stars because I thought it was bland so I added much more lemon juice and wiped the bowl, spoon and otherwise then came to a respectable thick cake. I would recommend using butter instead of oil as butter tends to be flammable. I used olive oil instead of shortening and drizzled that over the top before peeling and discarding the truffles. Plan on spreading them with a frosting of some sort when I make these.
