2 cups cream cheese
1 cup white sugar
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
The cream cheese and sugar can be dissolved in water. Watch for thickening.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the egg yolks, vanilla and cream cheese. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, stir until mixture thickens. Remove from heat. Stir in the yolks and evaporated milk. Stir until mixture thickens, then stir in the eggs one at a time, using even pressure, until well mixed. Remove from heat and stir in the ground zest. Let stand 5 minutes. Place dough in lightly greased bowl and turn to coat with oil mixture, but not sticky. Cover and let rise in warm place about 1 hour or until double.
Divide dough into five pieces. Wrap each piece in a paper sandwich bag. Wrap each piece in ribbon or similar ribbon, and store in watertight containers. Enjoy!
