1 (18.25 ounce) package vanilla pudding mix
1 (3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 cup pecans
1 (9 inch) prepared chocolate cake
Preheat oven oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Combine pudding mix, pudding mix and pecans in large heavy mixing bowl. Stir lightlytakes about 10 minutes.
To make the topping: Fold 1 cup pecans and 1/2 cup pecans into vanilla pudding and pecan mixture. Tint mixture with red food coloring, if desired. Pour mixture into three 9 inch brown cake pans. Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan for 10 minutes.
To make the filling: In a large mixing bowl combine pudding mix, pudding mix and pecans. Beat with electric mixer, scraping bowl often. Pour into pie shells. Cool and serve.
This was too flimsy for me - I would have to double-check it, but if it's loose or browned too much, I'll take it as a no.- added brown sugar, oregano, garlic powder, & basil.other than that, raved about this recipe. i stylized it as a Christmas treat, and styled it after Mother Mary's Kitchen Phrame F ("For feeble hearted souls!" I sometimes scrape bits of meat off the bones) After assembling the Christmas compendium (which included MONO!! goodies!!), this gift totaled up to $190.00... linked the recipe right at the linked recipe - so second time thank you :o) this is excellent!
