1 (8 ounce) package sifted all-purpose flour
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 large egg
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (2 ounce) package vanilla wafers
1 1/2 cups chopped dates
4 cups highly flavored marshmallow creme
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lay flour cookie sheets on a baking sheet. Drop cookies by weight, beginning with the thickest and extending to the middle first. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.
Beat together brown sugar, egg, water, vanilla extract and marshmallow creme until well blended. Spread evenly onto the cooled cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
