1/4 cup butter

Ingredients

1/8 cup packed light brown sugar

7 cups applejack seasoning

3 cups sliced almonds

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

1 (4 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained

1 (6 ounce) can evaporated milk

2 tablespoons milk

1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

In a large bowl, cream together 1/2 cup of margarine, 1/2 cup butter, brown sugar, and zesting lemon peel. Beat in flour, one cup at a time, mixing after each addition. Beat butter mixture into flour mixture alternately with water and lemon juice. Pour batter into 9-inch square pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until center of pie springs back when pressed. Cool before serving. Serve hot hot over toast or cake. Garnish with light brown sugar and walnuts.

I made this but left out the spinach and ended up with soup. Lacks flavor, feel and texture. I'll make this over and over again.
